The sunlight poured into my bedroom, reminding me that I only had one day before I got back to work. I didn’t know what I was going to tell people, but I would definitely take my rings off so no one saw the evidence of my stupidity. I yawned and stretched, screaming when I touched a hard body next to me. Leaping from the bed and screaming my head off, I shoved myself back against the wall, my heart hammering out of control.

“Hey, babe.” Craig grinned and stretched, his muscles pulling and rippling in front of me. God, he was so sexy. “What are you doing over there? Come back to bed. We don’t have to do anything today. It’s Sunday.”

“What are you doing here?”

“Uh,” he chuckled and motioned me over. “I’m your husband. I came home to sleep with my wife. Though, I was hoping you wouldn’t be passed out in bed and I could get another taste of that sweet pussy.”

My body clenched in desire, but I shoved it aside so I could be angry. “We’re only married because you tricked me. You need to leave. I didn’t invite you into my home.”

He leaned on his elbow, his face crinkling in confusion in his still sleepy state. He rubbed at his eyes and smiled. “Honey, this is my home now. I even brought a suitcase with me. I’ll need at least one drawer and a little closet space, but don’t worry, I’m very tidy.”

“That’s great. Go to your own home and be tidy!”

“Well, that’ll be hard to do since I put my house on the market this morning. I have an agent…did you meet Isa? Well, anyway, she’s Gabe’s wife and she’s a realtor. She went over to the house this morning with some of the ladies to get it ready to be put on the market. She’s great at staging homes. I’m pretty excited.”

“Why would you do that? I already told you that I don’t want to be married to you.”

“Did you? I’m not sure you actually said the words. I think you told me that I had lied to you and manipulated you, which is all true, but it all worked out in the end.”

I squeezed my head in frustration. I could literally pull my brains out right now and be happier than having to continue with this ludicrous conversation for one more minute.

“Look, we’re heading back to Vegas today. We’re getting this marriage annulled immediately before you find some other way to get your way.”

“Hmmm. I don’t think that’s really a great idea. I mean, we wouldn’t be able to get a flight out there and be back for school tomorrow. And since you called off for a whole week, I don’t think the principal would be too happy with you taking another sick day.”

“I didn’t call off work! Someone else did it for me!”

“Yeah, but you didn’t exactly use every last resource to get back home.”

“I can’t believe this. You have an answer for everything, don’t you?”

He grinned and climbed out of the bed.
